Three goals from off-season recruit Jordan Sinclair helped Hillside to its first win of the season in division 1 of the Essendon District Football League.

The Sharks controlled all facets of the match to beat Oak Park 14.12 (96) – 7.10 (52).

After taking a 13-point lead into quarter-time, Hillside blew the match open in the second quarter with six goals to one and from there the result was never in doubt.

Jackson Volpato was also a dangerous presence up forward, kicking three goals, while Mohamed Taleb booted two.

Blaise Ferraro and Peter Maglogiannis were also among the best for the Sharks.

Saturday’s win lifts Hillside to sixth on the ladder. This weekend the Sharks will take on Westmeadows.

In other results from the weekend, it was a tough day at the office for Taylors Lakes, which suffered its first loss of the year.

After a promising first quarter, the Lions were unable to match it with Tullamarine, which ran rampant up forward.

Tullamarine had eight individual goalkickers in the win, with Jack Sims and Sean Doyle combining for seven majors.

It was the opposite case for Taylors Lakes, with Bekim Memedi the only multiple goalkicker in the 16.10 (106) – 7.3 (45) loss.

This weekend, the Lions take on the struggling Northern Saints.

At the top end of the ladder, Craigieburn beat Hadfield by 220 points on Saturday.

Brothers Jason and Cameron Cloke combined for 17 goals in the 39.14 (248) – 4.4 (28) win, while Glenn Robertson booted 10.

After three rounds Craigieburn holds a percentage of 248.
