With the top of the table crowded, wins at this point of the season are important.
On Saturday, Whittlesea United had a 1-1 draw with Brimbank Stallions.
United hit the scoreboard early through Emile Damey before going a man down in the 30th minute.
Aaron Smith scored just after half time to level the scores for the Stallions, with United able to hold on despite being a man down.
The Stallions sit in sixth with 17 points, while Whittlesea is in fourth spot.
Westgate remains in third spot after a high scoring affair against Keilor Park.
Westgate came away with the points, winning 4-3.
Keilor Park sits bottom without a win after 12 rounds.
Sydenham Park and Yarraville Glory shared the points in their match. Neither team could score with the result finishing 0-0.
Sydenham remains in second spot.
In state league 2 north-west, Western Suburbs beat Albion Rovers on Friday night.
Western Suburbs scored once in each half to get a 2-0 win.
Western Suburbs sit in third spot, while the Rovers are in fifth.
Westvale Olympic had a better day, beating Mill Park 4-1.
Westvale opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, before Mill Park hit back five minutes later.
The scores wouldn’t stay level for long, with Westvale getting its second minute later.
Two second half goals sealed the win for Westvale.
In state league 3 north-west it was a tough day for the Western Eagles who lost to the Uni Hill Eagles, 4-1.
Meanwhile, the Westside Strikers lost to Sebastopol Vikings, 1-0.
Scores were locked at 0-0 at half time before the Vikings hit the front in the 72nd minute, It would be the only goal of the game.
The Strikers sit in eighth spot.
