Deer Park came out firing on Sunday in the opening round of the Bowls Victoria pennant premier division season.
With a new look side and a number of key players taking to the green for the first time, Deer Park showed it meant business against Croydon.
Claiming three of the four rinks, Deer Park took home the win 97 (16)-63 (2).
Deer Park started the season with four new skips, including Australian star Aaron Teys and former Commonwealth gold medalist and world champion Mark Casey.
Teys, who is making the trip from New South Wales each week to play, skipped his rink to a 25-14 win.
Casey, who is the club’s head of bowls operations, was the biggest winner of the day, with his rink winning 27-11.
Nathan Bush was the other winning skip, with his rink winning 27-14, while Ryan Tainton’s rink lost 24-18.
Deer Park this week faces Yarraville-Footscray.
