Caroline Springs seals minor title

The wins continue to flow for Caroline Springs women’s side in Hockey Victoria’s winter competition.

The F-grade pennant side easily smashed Waverley 7-0 to seal the minor premiership with two rounds of play remaining.

Laura Brown, Aimee Jungfer and Lucy Steele scored two goals each with Brittany Webster scoring the other.

After 15 rounds the side remains undefeated.

The women’s metro B west team had a 3-0 win against Parkville. Ashleigh Cox, Alexandra Grant-Taylor and Randeep Kaur were the goalscorers.

Like the other women’s team, the metro B west team is on top of the ladder, A win next week would seal the minor premiership.

It was tougher for the men in pennant G-grade, where they suffered a 6-1 loss to Greater Dandenong Warriors.

Playing coach David Gorton scored the goal for Caroline Springs. The side remains bottom of the ladder with just one win for the year.

In the juniors, the two Springers teams had identical results against Footscray sides.

Springers Black lost to Footscray Hawks 2-1 with Rory McMillan the goalscorer for the Springers.

Xavier Frederickson was the blue side’s goalscorer against Footscray Wolfpack.

In other results, it was another tough week for Melton in Women’s Vic League 2. The Mustangs were on the end of another big hiding, losing to Monash University 7-0. They remain without a win this season.
