Blues lose three stars

Three Keilor premiership players are on the move as the Blues are set to welcome back at least one star from the Victorian Football League.

After losing just three games this year, the Blues believe they are in a good place to again be in the mix come next season.

Blues coach Mick McGuane said they thought they still had a good squad.

“We need a bit of luck with injury at the right time of the year,” he said.

“Players like [Riley] Ham and [Stefan] Radovanovic guys like that who didn’t play a lot of football will be like new recruits.”

McGuane said Jack Brown was set to be back at the Blues full time next year, having played in the Victorian Football League the past three seasons.

Brown played one season game this year for the Blues.

McGuane said they were still waiting on confirmation on whether there might be a couple of more players returning full time from VFL.

Premiership players Jovan Petric, Reuben William and Jermarl Daly are all departing the club with McGuane saying they leave with the club’s blessing.

Petric has signed with Swan Districts in Western Australia as he continues to pursue his dreams of being drafted.

William has joined Thomastown in the Northern Football League with work commitments meaning he could no longer commit to play at premier level.

Daly is joining St Bernard’s where he has a close football contact.
