Kealba-Green Gully has breathed life into its stop-start North West Metropolitan Cricket Association Luscombe Shield season.
The Cougars recorded a massive win over Burnside Springs in a two-day game at Green Gully Reserve on Saturday to boost their spirits.
While the Cougars suffered a setback in a competitive one-day game against Pascoe Vale Central the following day, the signs are looking more promising.
“Early on we had a few guys unavailable for different reasons,” Cougars captain Evan Long said.
“There’s been weddings, Spring Carnival, injuries, things you can’t control.
“We’ve dropped a couple of games and lost a bit of momentum.

“It was good to get the season rolling with a good win.”
After posting a gigantic 9-351 declared on the back of 127 from Shaun Guerra and 98 from Long, Kealba-Green Gully was heavily favoured to secure maximum points. I
n the end, the Cougars took care of business with a 146-run victory.
Riley Thompson snaffled his first five-wicket haul en route to 6-53 off 16.5.
On Sunday, Kealba-Green Gully lost a nail-biter to arch-rival Pascoe Vale Central. The Cougars posted 5-233, but Central chased it down with one ball to spare for a two-wicket win in a classic.
