Taylors Lakes coach Charles Cuzzupi coached his final game in charge of the Essendon District Football League division 2 club on Saturday. The Lions announced on Thursday that Cuzzupi had decided he wasn’t going to continue coaching next season due to work and family commitments and wouldn’t coach out the season. Lions premiership coach Steve Burns has been appointed interim coach for the rest of the season. Cuzzupi’s time at the Lions ended with a 28-28 (186)-1.7 (13) win against Jacana. In other results, Burnside Heights lost to Coburg Districts and Keilor Park was too good for Northern Saints. In premier division, Keilor was smashed by Strathmore.

Caroline Springs keeps piling on the wins in the Western Region Football League division 1 season. On Saturday, the Lakes kept Yarraville Seddon to just one point in the first half to have the game won at the main break. They would continue to pile on the goals in the second half, winning 31.18 (204)-2.4 (16). Ryan Allan kicked six goals as 16 players hit the scoreboard. The Lakers remain undefeated.
