Keilor Park snuck home in a thriller in Essendon District Football League division 2 on Saturday. In the only division 2 match of the weekend, the Devils were made to work hard for the win against Taylors Lakes. After leading early, the Devils held on, winning 7.16 (58)-8.9 (57). The Devils’ Daylan Kempster was named best on ground. In premier division, Keilor bounced back against Avondale Height recording a big win. In division 1, Hillside was too good for Craigieburn. In the women’s premier division, Keilor beat Burnside Heights.

WRFL

St Albans got its second win of the Western Region Football League division 1 season, beating Point Cook. The Saints led at every break in the 10.10 (70)-6.11 (47) win. Ben McManus kicked three goals in a best on ground performance. Meanwhile, Caroline Springs remains unbeaten after beating Spotswood, 13.14 (92)-3.4 (22). It was a disappointing day for Sunshine losing to Altona, 24.24 (168)-0.9 (9).

NPL

Calder United had a massive win against South Melbourne in the National Premier League Women’s competition. Backing up a 6-0 win the previous round, Calder beat South Melbourne 5-0 on Saturday. In the men’s NPL competition, St Albans Saints lost to Oakleigh Cannons 3-1, Green Gully beat Eastern Lions, Melbourne Knights lost to Altona Magic, 1-0. In NPL3, North Sunshine Eagles lost 4-1.

NBL1

Keilor Thunder fell short against a star studded Geelong Supercats side in the National Basketball League 1 South women’s competition. Missing both their imports, the Thunder lost 101-87 on Saturday night. Maddie Garrick top scored with 25 points, while Aneta Bandilovska chipped in with 21 points. The men’s side also lost to the Supercats. The undefeated Supercats winning, 84-76. Jacob Lampkin top scored with 29 points, while Zac Triplett top scored with 20 points.
