St Albans has announced a new signing to help take them forward in the Essendon District Football League. The Saints have recruited Brandon Coletta who comes across from premier division team, East Keilor. Cotella comes with a lot of talent, leadership and experience. He was named in the 2023 EDFL premier division team of the year, he is a four time representative of the EDFL division 1 team of the year. He was also the vice captain at both East Keilor and Hillside.

VSDCA

The start of the much anticipated Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association season has been postponed due to weather conditions. The first round of matches, scheduled to be two day fixtures will now be played next weekend as one day games, with teams needing to wear coloured outfits and a white ball. Via social media the VSDCA said, “due to the large number of grounds unavailable for play this weekend, the board has decided to cancel all scheduled play.”

WRFL

Caroline Springs senior women’s coach, Alex O’Shea, has been recognised as the Western Region Football League’s female coach of the year’ at the senior presentation last week. O’Shea made the transition to coaching this year after being an integral member of the Lakers women’s side over the years. The club said she has continued to build on the culture that she pioneered as a player, whilst taking the Lakers side to a fifth straight grand final.

The Lakers men’s side has also announced the re-signing of four players, Jamie Ritoski, Steven Kyriazis, Nathan Aidonis and Damon Cardona have all recommitted to the club.
