Sydenham-Hillside has signed Scotland fast bowler Adrian Neill for the upcoming Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division. The club in its announcement said Neill has a number of international appearances under his belt and has recently been involved in World Cup qualifiers, falling just short of a World Cup bid. “At a very imposing 6ft 9 we look forward to seeing Adrian in action at Hillside wearing the Storm colours,” the club said on social media.

Western United

Western United’s games record holder Connor Pain is on the move. United announced last week it had agreed to the transfer of Pain to join Saudi Arabian second tier club, Al-Orobah Football Club for the 2023-24 season. A foundation player, Pain went on to play 105 league matches for the club, the first player to reach 100 goals for the club.

VSDCA

Taylors Lakes has announced its first new signing for the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association season. Melisha Deshapriya joins the club from Victorian Turf Cricket Association club Grand United, where he has played for the past two years. Deshapriya is a leg spinner and lower order batsman and took 6-13 to help guide his side to a semi final win in division 3 last season. He was also part of the premiership team. The Lions also announced the re-signing of Aamir Raza.

VTCA

Grand United has announced the departure of three premiership players. The Victorian Turf Cricket Association club announced that Nilan Fernando, Melisha Deshapriya and Thilan Maduranga would all be moving on. Fernando was at the club for five seasons and was a two-time club champion. All three were part of the club’s division 3 premiership last season.
