Western United’s Rhys Bozinovski has been named in the Young Socceroos squad for the upcoming under-20 Asian Cup. Bozinovski, who played his junior soccer at Spring Hills, is one of 23 players named in the squad for the tournament later this month. The Young Socceroos need to make at least the semi finals to qualify for the under-20 world cup. Kahli Johnson has been called up for the Young Matildas, who are in camp this week in Werribee.

PEGS is out of the Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 competition after losing to West Coburg on Tuesday night. Finally getting underway after the match was postponed a week, PEGS made 6-165 from its overs. Jordan Cook and Carlos Maynard made 44 apiece. West Coburg made the runs with two balls remaining, finishing 2-166. West Coburg will face Jacana for a spot in the final four, meanwhile Sunshine will play the Druids.

Braybrook has announced the signing of Shane Jones for the upcoming Western Region Football League division 2 season. Jones, who has signed for two years, has played with both Deer Park and Point Cook, while he was a boundary umpire in the AFL, officiating in 157 games. Meanwhile, Nicholas Papakalodoukas, has put in a clearance to move to the Southern Football League, which has been denied.

The St Albans Saints have announced some key signings ahead of the National Premier League season getting underway this week. Brian Summerskill joins the club from Heidelberg United bringing a wealth of experience while Troy Ruthven has crossed form Port Melbourne. The Saints start their season this Sunday against the Melbourne Knights at Churchill Reserve.
