Taylors Lakes proved no match for Williamstown in a rain-decided match in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association T20 competition on Tuesday night. The Lions struggled through their innings, finishing 7-94. Lachlan Marr top scored with 20. The Seagulls were flying at 2-75 when rain stopped play. The Seagulls were awarded the win, as they were ahead of the run rate needed at that point. The Lions are 1-1 from their two matches. The Lions were set to be back in action on Saturday, after deadline, on day two of its match with Noble Park. Noble Park was to resume chasing the Lions’ 161.

Calder United has signed two of the next generation of talent in the National Premier League Women’s competition. Calder last week announced the signings of Lucy Richards and Bella Edwards. Both played with the Football Emerging squad last season. Edwards currently trains with Western United, while Richards was Football Emerging’s captain last season. Calder, which won three titles last year, is set for a different looking side this year, with several players playing in the A-League this season.
