NAB League
Players from the Western Jets are among those who took part in a training camp in preparation for the 2023 AFL under-18 national championships. The camp, which was held at the Hangar in Tullamarine featured a host of talented 16 and 17-year-old boys and girls who feature as part of the Victoria Metro regions that compete in the NAB League. The girls squad participated in the training camp across Friday and Saturday, while a camp for the boys squad was run on Saturday and Sunday. Six players in the 2023 NAB AFLW Academy have been named in the girls’ squad, including the Jets’ duo Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner and Kiera Whiley. The Jets’ Logan Morris, who plays with Werribee Districts, and Tamara Henry, who is from Darley, also took part in the camps.

The North Sunshine Eagles have announced their first re-signings for next year’s National Premier League 3 season. Experienced defender Tom Matthews is keen to bounce back after an injury interrupted 2023, Ryan Stewart commits for a second season at the club, while Nick Epifano has also re-signed for next season.

Westgate has announced the signing of 21 year old Petar Marinkovic for next year’s FV state league 1 north-west season. After finishing second in state league 2 north-west and earning promotion, Westgate has signed Marinkovic from Werribee City. Marinkovic possesses a heap of experience having played abroad in Europe for two years for Partizan Belgrade under-19s and Watford under-23s FC Academy.

Altona Falcons were in fine form on Wednesday night in the Victorian Men’s and Mixed Netball Association mixed premier competition. Facing the Eastside Sonics the Falcons had no issues at all, winning 84-42. The Falcons sit third with one round left before the Christmas break. The Falcons men’s side lost a thriller to St Therese’s, 53-50. The Falcons are fourth on the ladder.
