Taylors Lakes is on the hunt for a new senior men’s coach with Sam Tankard resigning.

In a statement from president Hilary Pollock on their social media accounts on Sunday, the Lions said Tankard had stood down as he felt that it was the right time to allow a fresh voice to take over the reins and move the club forward.

Pollock said that Tankard had left the club in a better position than it was when he joined the club and thanked him and his family for their contribution.

Tankard coached the Essendon District Football League side for four seasons, having been appointed in late 2014 with the departure of Steve Burns.

The last two seasons, the Lions finished fifth, missing out on finals on percentage.
