WRFL: Sunshine needs a reboot after thrashing from Hoppers Crossing

Sunshine was on the wrong end of a Hoppers Crossing’ hiding in its Western Region Football League match on Saturday.

The Kangaroos went down by 79 points, 20.10 (130) to 7.9 (51). The match looked as if it was going to be anything but a blowout early on as the two finals aspirants went goal for goal. But, as the contest progressed, the scoring dried up for the Kangaroos.

It was a tough day for the big forwards, with Sunshine’s Patrick Wiggins able to kick just one goal.

The result drops the Kangaroos to seventh on the division 1 ladder, with two wins for the season.

Sunshine wants to bounce back this weekend when it takes on Spotswood.

In other round seven results, Altona was too good for Albion and Werribee Districts smashed Port Melbourne.

Meanwhile, in division 2 results, Caroline Springs defeated Glen Orden and Sunshine Heights came up short against Yarraville-Seddon.
