An injury-riddled Melbourne Knights lost its fourth straight game, going down to arch rival South Melbourne 1-0 at Knights Stadium on Sunday.
The Knights were again on the receiving end of a late goal in the 85th minute, which proved the difference between the two sides.
Both teams had chances to score earlier with the Knights controlling the second part of the first half, but were unable to hit the scoreboard.
Souths came out the stronger of the two teams in the second half and were unlucky not to score more than one goal.
