Luck eluded Sunshine at a critical point of Saturday’s five-wicket loss to Melton in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association east-west group first XI at Dempster Park.
The Crows set Melton a modest 138 to chase but looked the goods early on day two when they had Melton in trouble on 4-17.
But a dropped catch helped Melton captain Nathan Geisler (41) and Stuart Wilson (45no) steady the ship for the reigning premiers with a match-winning 80-run partnership as the Lions made 5-141.
The Crows will visit Williamstown over the next two Saturdays in the final two-dayer of the summer.
