Marijan Cvitkovic underlined his status as one of the premier attacking midfielders in the Victorian Premier League, taking out the coveted gold medal for best and fairest.
The Melbourne Knights star claimed the medal with 19 votes.
He was one ahead of Port Melbourne’s Lambros Honos, who was ineligible because of suspension.
It was Cvitkovic’s second season at the Knights following St Albans Saints’ relegation to state league 1, and the 26-year-old has been crucial in his club’s return to the finals.
Defensive midfielder Ben Surey was named the Knights’ best and fairest.
