Sunshine Crows were left shellshocked as 16-year-old wunderkind Tim Sugumar blasted 104 on debut to set up a 70-run win for Bayswater in Sub-District cricket on Saturday.
Chasing 155 at Bayswater Oval, the hosts reached it with three wickets down with Sugumar still at the crease, before powering to 7-224 from their 80 overs.
Kapelan Kulendranathan starred with the ball for Sunshine with 2-34, including the belated wicket of Sugumar.
Troy Stone (2-44), Laka Ullah Khan (1-16) and Paramjeet Hundal (1-50) were let down by a lack of run support.
Sunshine’s first home game of the season is a two-dayer against Box Hill starting at Dempster Park on Saturday.
