ALBION broke through for its second win of the Western Region Football League division one season, beating Yarraville Seddon by 43 points on Saturday.
Pre-match, both teams had just one win, but it was Albion who wanted it more. They signalled their intent with a sensational first quarter, booting seven straight goals as the Eagles struggled to apply any scoreboard pressure.
The Cats led by 34 points at quarter-time and the buffer proved crucial in the second and third quarters, both of which the Eagles won marginally.
Yarraville Seddon looked to force its way back into the game with five goals in the second, but it struggled to keep Albion, which kicked four of its own, at bay. At three-quarter-time ,the Eagles had cut the lead back to 28 points and the Cats were too good in the final term. They had an array of options up forward, their 20 goals coming from 12 goalkickers, Mohamed Dibb, Johnathan O’Brien and Todd Finco all kicking three.
Deer Park kept its grip on the competition with a 57-point win.
