SUNSHINE Heights widened the divide in division 2 of the Western Region Football League on Saturday, belting Albanvale by 78 points.
The Dragons are in fifth spot, two games and almost 90 per cent clear of Sanctuary Lakes in sixth place.
The first quarter was relatively even, the Dragons taking a four-point lead into the quarter-time break, but they broke the shackles in the second term with five goals to one and controlled the contest from there on.
They kicked 16 goals to four after quarter-time, their most impressive quarter being the last – 8.4 to 2.1 – to give the Dragons a crucial percentage boost. Keelan Privitera got his second consecutive four-goal haul.
In other matches, Caroline Springs got its third win of the year in a scrappy contest over the struggling Laverton by 31 points.
Braybrook managed just six goals in a 172-point massacre at the hands of the undefeated Glen Orden, while North Sunshine was 176 points behind when the final siren sounded in its clash with Wyndham Vale.
