KEILOR Thunder had one of the toughest road trips in the Victorian Basketball League Big V women’s division 2 to notch their first win of the season.
The Thunder finished strongly for a 66-51 victory over the Warrnambool Mermaids in Warrnambool on Saturday night. The Carey Paps-coached visitors reeled off 18 of the 25 fourth-quarter points to turn a four-point lead into a 15-point triumph.
Jodi Impey was the stand-out for the Thunder with a double-double 12 points and 10 rebounds in 26 minutes.
Her partner-in-crime was Michelle Reid, who had a stellar defensive night with 11 rebounds and three blocks to go with nine points.
