Yana Alana descends on Brimbank

Award-winning cabaret performer Yana Alana is coming to the Bowery Theatre in St Albans to perform her latest show, Yana Alana Covered.

Yana Alana is the alter ego of Melburnian Sarah Ward, who received rave reviews for her 2014 show Between The Cracks, for which she also won a Helpmann Award for best cabaret performer.

She has also won 10 Green Room awards, which acknowledge achievements in performing arts in Australia.

Performing with her all female band, the Paranas, Yana Alana will perform original arrangements and interpretations of classic and kooky pop, rock and soul songs, showcasing her unique risque and memorable performance style.

The show will include songs made famous by Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Shirley Bassey, Laurie Anderson, Scout Niblet, Joy Division and Johnny Young among others.

Described as a camp, bouffant, drag diva, Yana Alana is infamous for her bold performances. The Bowery Theatre will host her only show in Brimbank on Saturday, April 29 from 7.30pm.
