A 2017 Miss World Australia finalist is looking to go one step further this year.
Zara Keca has once again been selected as a Victorian finalist and is hoping her experience will hold her in good stead.
“Last year, when I entered I’d never done anything like this before – it was all really new to me,” she said.
“This time around, I’m much better prepared, know what to say and am a lot more confident in how I speak.”
The state final will be held on June 20, with the national final to follow on the Gold Coast.
Part of the pageant requires contestants to undertake charity work, which Ms Keca said was something close to her heart.
“I’m trying to raise money for Variety – a charity for children in need,” she said. “I have a sister with a disability and I’ve seen first-hand the support Variety provide.
“I’ve got an online page and I’ll be looking to hold a fun run at my athletics club to help raise funds. I raised $6000 last year, so I’d like to at least match that.”
