Works to halt during holiday period at Talmage Street

Construction work at Talmage Street in Albion will be halted until January 11.

The work which is being done to support the construction of a new Albion substation.

Workers won’t be on site between December 24 and January 10, with plenty of action to resume after that.

As part of the works new underground electrical equipment will be installed, sewerage pipes will be upgraded and landscaping activities will commencement around the site.

Residents are being warned that there will be an increase of construction vehicles accessing Talmage Street and Albion station.

There will be a crane truck present at times. Works are set to continue until March.

Meanwhile, the majority of the carpark at the train station that had been closed due to works was expected to have reopened this week.

A small part will be closed until mid-February.
