A nurse who works at the Sunshine Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and a soon-to-be family of four, are among five purchasers to win back their land deposit from Woodlea developers.

The prize is part of a promotion celebrating Woodlea estate’s more than 5000 residents and its fifth birthday.

The giveaway included the chance for purchasers to win back their five per cent land deposit, up to the value of $20,000, and a $10,000 Visa Pre-paid card.

The win couldn’t have come at a better time for nurse Christine Mae Suarez and her husband.

As a healthcare worker helping those on the front line battle against COVID-19, Christine faces an increased risk of being exposed to the disease.

And, like many, the coronavirus outbreak and subsequent state of emergency restrictions have resulted in concerns for her husband’s job security.

Winning their deposit back will ease the burden.

It’s is an all too familiar story for fellow winners Sukriti and Sandeep Dahiya, a growing family with a four-year-old daughter and a baby on the way, who face a reduction in salary during the pandemic.

Sukriti explained that winning their deposit back was a ray of hope at this time.

“We were so excited when we won. We migrated to Australia from India two years ago and as a first-home buyer, we wanted our first home to be in Woodlea,” she said.

“There are so many different ethnicities in Woodlea, I want my children to be aware and learn about different cultures and countries – that’s so important to me.”

Upon completion, Woodlea estate in Rockbank will be home to more than 20,000 residents.
