Crash motorcyclist dies in hospital

A motorcyclist from Gladstone Park has died following a serious collision in St Albans on January 27.

The 27-year-old had been rushed to the Royal Melbourne hospital after his red Honda motorbike collided with a champagne-coloured Mistubishi station wagon at the intersection of Main Road West and Glendenning Street.

Paramedics were called to the scene just after midday to treat the man who suffered head injuries.

It is believed his death makes him the seventh motorcyclist to die in Victoria within a month.

Earlier this week a man in his 40s died after his Harley Davidson motorcycle ran off the road and crashed in Werribee South on Tuesday night, just hours after another motorcyclist was seriously injured in Tarneit.

Another motorcyclist was killed in Nar Nar Goon the following evening.

Brimbank Highway Patrol is investigating the St Albans incident and has called on witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppers.com.au
