Two men have been taken to hospital after a road rage incident on Sunday night on the Western Ring Road, leaving one man with serious life-threatening injuries.
The two men were travelling down the Ballarat Road off ramp around midnight when their car collided with another car.
Police say the four men were involved in a physical altercation. One man sustained serious head injuries and the other is in a stable condition.
The two victims’ car was stolen and has been found torched in Albion.
Police could not confirm whether the men were known to each other or to police.
“It is a very serious attack and we are appealing to the public to assist us,” said Detective Senior Constable Chris Morrison.
The police are appealing for witnesses who saw a grey Toyota Corolla and a white Holden Commodore around midnight to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
