The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF) have teamed up with a public healthcare facility developer to help continue their work helping the youth in Melbourne’s West, including in Brimbank.
WBCF and Plenary Health will work together over the next five years to support the Foundation’s Youth Leadership Project.
The Youth Leadership Project is a six-month development program for young people aged 14 to 16 who reside in the west of Melbourne and across Victoria.
Participants take part in theory-based activities which are designed to increase their skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, goal setting and resilience, which all help to empower them to contribute and grow as leaders in their community.
The Plenary Health consortium has been contracted by the state government to deliver the $1.5 billion New Footscray Hospital Project, which will have more than 500 beds and be able to treat almost 15,000 additional patients.
Western Bulldogs community and government relations general manager Kashif Bouns said Plenary Health’s support would mean greater opportunities for young leaders in the west.
“It’s excellent to be working with an amazing organisation in Plenary Health who are going to have such a fantastic impact on our community,” he said.
“Thanks to their support we are able to continuously improve the Youth Leadership Project and deliver a program that will have a major impact on the lives of participants.”
