The next step in transforming Watergardens into a go-to food and drink location is under way.

Late last month, works commenced on upgrades including a new children’s outdoor play area, at the centre’s Station Street.

Watergardens centre manager Joe Galea confirmed works are under way to upgrade Station Street.

“Forming part of our multi-year vision to evolve Watergardens into a true town centre that embodies the aspirations of our community, this project will enhance the amenity, convenience and look and feel of Station Street as well as introduce a new kids’ play area and a number of exciting new hospitality offers to the community,” Mr Galea said.

“While it is still too early to confirm final timings or other specific details, we are excited to be able to share some exciting announcements as our plans are finalised and we reach key project milestones.”

Hoarding will be installed at Station Street until later this year, meaning shoppers might have to change the way they navigate through Station Street.

A number of new paths will be installed to help access retailers, amenities and Zone Bowling, which remain open during works.

It’s expected the upgrades will be completed later this year.
