Vouchers on offer for seniors to travel

A further 10,000 travel vouchers will be distributed to older Victorians, including in those in Brimbank, as part of the state government’s Seniors Travel Voucher Scheme.

Eligible seniors who have previously applied through the ballot will be able to use the vouchers for accommodation, tours and experiences across the state, according to a statement from Regional Development and Agriculture Minister Mary-Anne Thomas.

“Victorians have embraced the travel vouchers and the dining and entertainment programs, demonstrating that people are ready to get back to experiencing the best our state has to offer,” Ms Thomas said.

The eligible travel period for the vouchers will run through until Friday, May 27,

According to the government, previous rounds of the voucher scheme generated “significant” economic benefits, “with more than $159 million already spent on travel and activities in Victoria”.

“It’s terrific that more Victorians have been able to access more travel vouchers – with plenty of places in regional Victoria and the city to explore,” Ms Thomas said.

“The Travel Voucher Scheme has supported jobs in the tourism, hospitality and events sectors across Victoria by encouraging more people to travel.”
