The women of Knit into Action are doing their bit to bring a little colour to the Western Region Centre Against Sexual Assault (WRCASA), in Footscray.

The women have been meeting monthly to knit or crochet squares to wrap up the outside of their Ballarat Road building.

They intend to reveal their handiwork as ‘yarn-bombing’ during the coming 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence campaign.

The global campaign, aimed at raising awareness of gender-based violence as a human rights issue, begins on White Ribbon Day, November 25, and ends on December 10, International Human Rights Day.

People are being encouraged to join up at the group’s August 6 meeting from 10am to 12.30pm. Details: 9687 5811
