Victorian Parliament will adjourn for one week as a mark of respect, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

In a statement, the government said per the advice of the Presiding Officers, following the proclamation of Her Majesty’s successor, both houses of parliament will sit on Tuesday for members of the Assembly and Council to wear by oath or affirmation.

“Following this process, both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council will adjourn for one week as a mark of respect and return to sit on Tuesday 20 September – in line with the Parliament of NSW,” the government said.
