Victoria Votes: Sydenham

Natalie Hutchins will hold onto the seat of Sydenham after a strong swing towards Labor in today’s election.
With more than 27 per cent of votes counted in the seat, Ms Hutchins is enjoying a 3.8 per cent swing towards herself as she holds 70 per cent of first preference votes.
It comes as Labor maintains power in the state, with a swing of votes likely to deliver an increased majority for the next four years.

Incumbent Labor MP Natalie Hutchins holds an early lead in the seat of Sydenham and is well placed to retain her seat.

While counting has been going for a little over an hour, Ms Hutchins has collected 64.29 per cent of first preference votes after counting 858 votes.

It gives Ms Hutchins a strong lead over Liberal candidate Maria Kerr, who has 25.44 per cent of first preference votes early in the night.
