Upgraded parks to explore

Three park upgrades have been recently completed and another one will open next month in Brimbank.

The upgrades of Balmoral Park in Derrimut, Evergreen Reserve in Albanvale and Northumberland Reserve in Sunshine North are all open and providing more options for people to get outside.

An off-leash dog park at Kevin Flint in Cairnlea is expected to open next month.

The parks are part of a number of parks that have been upgraded or are planned to be upgraded by the council since the start of the 2020-21 financial year.

The other parks are Keilor Park Recreation Reserve, Shirley Street Reserve and the skate park at Errington Reserve in St Albans, Elford Green Reserve in Cairnlea, Caprice Court Reserve and the skatepark at Packard Street Reserve, and the dog off the leash park upgrade in Keilor Downs and pocket parks in Sunshine North, St Albans and Sunshine West.

Brimbank Mayor Ranka Rasic was fantastic to see more new and upgraded parks and playgrounds in Brimbank.

“I’m proud to be a part of a council now delivering on better parks, greener streets and more places for residents to keep active, and support healthier and happier communities.

“With over 250 parks and reserves in Brimbank there’s lots of ways to discover something new in your local neighbourhood.”
