Brimbank U3A ups the IT ante

U3a Vice President Karin Saliba

With 230 members, and growing, Brimbank U3A is calling for two new, volunteer computer tutors for classes starting next February at West Sunshine Community Centre.

U3A Brimbank, a volunteer-based, non- profit organisation that provides shared learning, leisure and creative activities for Brimbank retirees or semi-retired residents aged 50 and over, will run Monday classes for beginner and intermediate levels.

With 25 ongoing classes scheduled for 2016, including French and Spanish, yoga, tai chi and ballroom dancing, staff member Glenda Kueng says more hands are needed on deck.

“All the staff are volunteers – the tutors, group leaders, office staff and committee of management,” she said.

“Some possible new classes for 2016 include mahjong, a theatre group, table tennis and singing for fun.”

For more information, call the office on 9356 9085 or email u3abrimbank@bigpond.com. Memberships are $40.
