Two men charged over alleged attempted armed robbery

A West Footscray man and a Sunshine man have been charged with a series of offences following an alleged attempted armed robbery in North Melbourne.

Police say the two men approached a man who was inside his car on Queensberry Street about 3pm on February 25.

The two men allegedly assaulted the victim before fleeing empty-handed.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 46-year-old West Footscray man and a 44-year-old Sunshine man have been charged with attempted armed robbery, intentionally cause injury and other associated offences.

They appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning and have been remanded in custody to re-appear on May 29.
