Trio charged following attempted aggravated burglary

Three males have been charged following an attempted aggravated burglary that left a man with a gun-shot wound to his face earlier this month.

It is alleged a trio of offenders attended a residence on Robertson Road just before midnight on September 15 and were confronted by the home owners.

The trio made demands for the family’s car keys before a firearm was discharged and a 21-year-old man received a gun-shot wound to his face.

He was taken to hospital for treatment in a stable condition.

Investigators executed warrants at properties in Taylors Hill, Hillside and Aintree yesterday and seized six firearms, ammunition and a motorcycle.

An 18-year-old Taylors Hill man and a 17-year-old Hillside male have both been charged and remanded with 12 offences, including three counts of attempted aggravated burglary, conduct endangering life, theft of motor car and other related offences.

A 24-year-old Taylors Hill man was charged with 14 offences including five counts of possess a firearm, five counts of manufacture handgun without a licence and possess drugs and ammunition offences.

All three are expected to appear in court today.
