Firearms, explosives and large quantities of drugs have been uncovered in a series of raids on homes in Braybrook and Sunshine on Friday.
Two men and a woman have been charged with a series of offences after a number of warrants were executed on Friday morning.
A 55-year-old man arrested at a Braybrook property was charged with cultivate commercial quantity of cannabis, possess a commercial quantity of a drug of dependence and theft of electricity.
Police seized a number of items from the property including items alleged to be 147 cannabis plants, an electrical bypass and various items used to grow cannabis.
He is believed to be an unlawful resident and was due to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Friday afternoon.
A 23-year-old woman was arrested at a Braybrook property and charged with a range of drug offences and storing unauthorised explosives.
Police seized items alleged to be cocaine, ecstasy, methylamphetamine, two presses, drug paraphernalia and explosives.
She was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ court for a filing hearing on September 15.
A 34-year-old man arrested at a Sunshine property was charged with cultivate a drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence, possess an unregistered firearm, person without a firearms licence possess a firearm and theft of electricity.
He was bailed to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates Court on November 21.
Police seized a number of items from the Sunshine property, including items alleged to be a rifle, cannabis, an electrical bypass and various items used to grow cannabis.
Detective Inspector Wayne Newman of the North West Metro Crime Squad said the operation was part of a multi–agency investigation coordinated by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
“Victoria Police continues to co-operate with partner agencies to disrupt and dismantle organised crime syndicates who traffick drugs in our community,” he said.
