Trio arrested after Sunshine stabbing

Three girls have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Sunshine last week.

A 14-year-old Braybrook girl and a 17-year-old Albion girl have been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and assault with a weapon.

A 14-year-old Sunshine girl has been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault, assault with a weapon and assault by kicking.

Protective Services Officers saw a 38-year-old man covered in blood at the Sunshine railway station about 9.45pm on December 8.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening head injuries and stab wounds.

Investigators believed the man was assaulted at the corner of Harvester and Devonshire roads.

Detectives arrested the three girls after a number of warrants were executed.

The girls have been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
