Trio arrested following home invasion in St Albans

Police have arrested one man and two children following a home invasion in St Albans overnight.

Police responded to reports of five male offenders, armed with machetes, forcing entry to a property on Atheldene Drive about 11.55pm.

Whilst inside the property, the five offenders demanded cash from a man and a woman home at the time.

The man and the woman were both assaulted.

The intruders ransacked the home and stole cash from the victims before fleeing the scene on foot.

Both victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, all from Werribee, are assisting police with enquiries.
