Nearly 20 trees and plants have been damaged at Sunvale Community Park in Sunshine this week.
Brimbank council posted on its Facebook page that staff had discovered the damage on Thursday.
“We wish we didn’t have to post this one,” the post said.
“Our public spaces are a haven for our community to gather, exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
“We [are] extremely sad and disappointed at the vandalism that has taken place at Sunvale Community Park in Sunshine.
“Our parks services staff discovered 18 trees and plants have been significantly damaged.”
The council has reported the damage to Victoria Police.
