‘Treat or trick’ to promote child safety

Students at Kings Park Primary School got into the spooky spirit of Halloween last Friday to raise money for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

For their Day for Daniel, students dressed up in scary costumes or simply wore red to raise awareness of child safety and harm prevention.

And their Halloween activities took on a slightly different spin. Students enjoyed “treat or treat”, as opposed to the usual “trick or treat”, where they treated each other with kind words or handmade gifts.

“We want every child to feel safe and secure at school so we equip and enable students with the right education they need to stay safe inside and outside the school grounds.”

Grade 5 teacher Natalie DeBrincat said: “Students also took part in activities to promote child safety and honour the memory of Daniel Morcombe.”
