Kids of all ages will be in for a fun time at a new toy store in Watergardens.

Toymate is opening its doors tonight, bringing a new shopping experience to the area.

Chief executive Danny Bloom said it was pretty exciting to open up, as everyone comes out of lockdown.

The store has employed about 40 people.

“We were meant to open two to three weeks ago,” he said,

“With the lockdown we are now opening this week, our team of staff are excited.”

The store, which will contain a new fit out, has a number of play areas that children can have fun while they shop.

Mr Bloom said they were expecting people to hit the shops after being restricted to online shopping for the last few months.

“Seeing the kids excited that they come into the store,” he said. “They get to look and feel and interact with toys.

“They are bright and colourful. There is a soft toy area, an area where the kids can play with toys and make sure it is a fun shopping experience.”

Mr Bloom said they were expecting a busy and exciting period in the lead up to Christmas.
