A man is in a critical condition and two women are in hospital with life threatening injuries following a stabbing in Sunshine last Thursday afternoon.
The women, aged 37 and 65, and a 34-year-old man, underwent surgery for “significant stab wounds”, following the incident just before 4pm at a residence in Braim Street.
The 37-year-old was in a stable condition and the 65-year-old was in a serious condition in the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Another man, 29, remains under police guard with minor injuries.
Acting Inspector Cam Reinke said all parties knew each other although the details of the incident were still unknown.
“It’s very worrying for a community,” he said.
A number of witnesses have spoken to police.
Neighbour Tony Sant, who lives across the street, told Fairfax Media he believed the people had been living in the house for two years.
“They have been doing a lot of renovation,” Mr Sant said.
“They bought it, and have been doing it up. That black fence went up just before Christmas.”
