Three Hillside residents were hospitalised and at least two cars written off following a multi-vehicle, head-on collision in Delahey on Monday night.
A white Ford sedan was travelling south along Kings Road north of Goldsmith Avenue when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a red Toyota Yaris about 8.30pm, police believe.
The Ford then crashed into a dark-coloured Mazda which was also travelling north along Kings Road.
“At least two of the three vehicles were unrepairable,” a police spokesman said.
A 53-year-old man driving the red Toyota Yaris and his two female passengers, a 26 and a 50-year-old, suffered minor injuries but were taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The 23-year-old Hillside man driving the Mazda and his 21-year-old female passenger from Sydenham were uninjured.
An 18-year-old man from Taylors Hill driving the Ford is expected to be charged with several traffic related offences.
Police are calling for witnesses.
