Three charged over St Albans shooting and carjacking

Two people from Kings Park and a man from Lalor have been charged following a carjacking and non-fatal shooting in St Albans.

Police will allege the trio was involved in an aggravated carjacking in Lalor on Tuesday, November 1.

Investigators have been told two men approached a man in his vehicle on Maguire Street about 9pm and threatened him with a firearm, before the victim managed to flee the scene.

The trio followed the man in their vehicle before discharging a firearm in his direction on Blessington Parade, Lalor, police said.

Shortly after, they approached another man sitting in his vehicle, a Skoda, in Carney Street.

The trio threatened the 28-year-old Lalor man with a firearm before an altercation took place.

The 28-year-old Lalor man was not physically injured during the incident.

On Thursday, November 3, a 28-year-old St Albans man received a gunshot wound to his upper body at a residential address in St Albans.

He made his way to a business on Main Road East just after 9.30pm and approached a staff member for assistance

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 40-year-old Lalor man was charged with attempted murder, aggravated carjacking and firearms offences.

A 23-year-old Kings Park man and a 29-year-old Kings Park woman were both charged with aggravated carjacking and firearms offences.
