Three arrested after assault, robbery

Police have arrested three men following an assault and robbery in Middleton Drive, Point Cook on Sunday night.

It is alleged a group of five offenders approached two victims, aged 29 and 39, and began to assault them while making demands for their mobile phones.

The offenders stole their phones while one victim managed to run and get help.

A man who came to assist the victims, a 26-year-old from Point Cook, was also assaulted.

The three men sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

Three offenders allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle, before police located them and arrested them on Gramercy Boulevard.

The men – a 20-year-old from Derrimut, a 21-year-old from South Australia and and a 19-year-old from Taylors Hill – are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Two offenders remain outstanding and are described as being aged in their late teens or early twenties, and are perceived to be African in appearance.
