On the back of a tour of local primary schools, three Sunshine College bands will perform at Sunshine Marketplace on Wednesday.
Music teacher Theresa Haddon says the bands have been together for more than two years and are made up of students in years 7 to 10.
The school’s three campuses have their own band, each with its own style of music, Ms Haddon says.
“The west campus has a pop-rock band, the Ardeer campus does a lot of reggae and soul, and the north campus’s genre is pop and alternative.”
Ms Haddon says that in their Wednesday shopping centre performance, the bands will play original songs as well as some covers, including a reggae version of Adele’s Hello.
The school’s three music teachers couldn’t be prouder of their students, she adds.
“We’re trying to organise more performance opportunities for them because we know how talented they are.”
The students will perform in front of Village Cinemas at Sunshine Marketplace between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday, May 25.
