COVID-19 test results for residents and staff at BlueCross Western Gardens in Sunshine have come back negative.

All staff and residents were tested following the positive test of a staff member, who caught the virus while working in another aged care facility.

Health Minister Martin Foley announced on Tuesday afternoon that all tests had come back for the residents and staff and there had been no further positive tests.

There were 135 people tested at the facility.

The positive case is linked to the Arcare cluster. There were no additional positive tests today which are linked to that cluster.

The announcement comes as the state government announces a COVID-19 vaccine blitz to ensure residents and staff of aged care facilities are vaccinated.

Starting tomorrow and running throughout the rest of this week, workers in private aged care facilities and the residential disability sector, which are managed by the commonwealth, will be given priority access at walk-in vaccination hubs around Victoria.

The sites, including the Melbourne Showgrounds, will be open from 9am to 4pm, with staff able to get vaccinated without a booking by showing evidence of their employment.

The commonwealth will continue to be responsible for in-reach in disability residential settings, but the state government will also work with providers to support access to state-run vaccination sites to increase the current low level of vaccinations.
